The Royal Marrakech Golf Club, Ancienne Route de Quarzazate - Marrakech
The Royal is the longest established course in Marrakech having opened over 70 years ago.
Located at the foot of the snow capped Atlas Mountains, this par 72 course, built in the 1920's by the Pasha of Marrakech, is lined with cypress, eucalyptus, palm, olive, orange and apricot trees and is approximately 6200 metres long.
Built in the 1920s by the pasha of Marrakech, the Royal Golf Club of Marrakech is one of the longest established in Morocco. Constantly renovated and improved, it is also one of King Hassan II's favourite courses. Winston Churchill, David Lloyd George and General Eisenhower have also played here. It is a course of extreme beauty. Located at the feet of the Atlas Mountains, the course has cypress, eucalyptus, palm, olive, orange and apricot trees.
Royal Marrakech with narrow tree lined fairways requires accurate irons and very little opportunity for airing your driver. The trees provide welcome shade as well as create a mystical and exotic atmosphere, whilst a very stern test for high handicappers it is certainly one that is not to be missed for those who enjoy playing in outstandingly scenic surroundings.
