Golf Holiday Itinerary
Day 1
Arrive at Cape Town International. You’ll be welcomed at the airport by a Drommedaris Golf Guide, who will assist with your luggage and transfer you in comfort to The Commodore Hotel, located at the V&A Waterfront. Explore the V&A Waterfront at your own pace and return to the hotel after dinner.
Day 2
Once you’ve enjoyed breakfast you’ll be transferred to Clovelly Golf Course. Once only a nine-hole and mainly sand course, Clovelly was designed by Dr Charles Molteno Murray, one of the best known golf architects of his day. Advocate Bobby Lewin was responsible for much of the magnificent landscaping.
After golf you’ll be visiting the nearby town Hermanus. This location is regard as the best land based whale watching destination in the world. Enjoy a drink at one of the cafes overlooking the bay and see the majestic giants of the ocean swimming a mere stone’s throw away. Return to the hotel before dinner.
When it’s not whale season, you can opt to visit Cape Point, located at the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve.
Day 3
After breakfast you’ll be visiting some of Cape Town’s famous tourist attractions, including Table Mountain, the penguins at Boulders Beach and the Castle of Good Hope. Return to the hotel before dinner
Day 4
Enjoy breakfast and meet your guide at reception for your transfer to the Royal Cape Golf Course. Play a round at South Africa’s oldest golf course and proud host of 10 SA Opens.
Day 5
Check out after breakfast and meet your guide for your transfer to the Garden Route Game Lodge. Check in and go on an afternoon ranger guided safari before dinner. All meals and safaris are included during your stay at the Garden Route Game Lodge.
Day 6
Full day safari. Enjoy a thrilling game drive in an open 4×4 safari vehicle with your experienced game ranger who will bring you sightings of lion, elephant, white rhino, buffalo and cheetah.
Day 7
Check out after sunrise safari and breakfast. Meet your guide at reception for your transfer to Fancourt Golf Resort, home of the 2003 Presidents Cup. Check in and spend the remainder of the day relaxing beside the pool or at the spa.
Day 8
After breakfast you’ll be teeing off at Fancourt Outeniqua Golf Course. Designed by legendary Grand Slam golfer, Gary Player, it is similar in character to its sibling, the Montagu, and its challenging design and fine conditioning will ensure an excellent test for all levels of golfers.
After golf you’ll go on an afternoon sightseeing excursion around George.
Day 9
Play a round of golf at Fancourt Montagu after breakfast. The Montagu is a much celebrated parkland course and has been ranked as the number-one golf course in South Africa in the past.
After golf you’ll go on an afternoon sightseeing excursion around Knysna.
Day 10
Check out after breakfast and morning at leisure. Meet your guide at reception for your transfer to Oude Werf Hotel, located in the heart of historic Stellenbosch. After checking in your guide will take you on a relaxing orientation tour around Stellenbosch.
Day 11
Have a delicious breakfast before your transfer to De Zalze Golf Course. The De Zalze Golf Course was designed by Peter Matkovich who has made the most of this stunning setting and created a course that places a premium on accuracy. Visit the Spier Winery at De Zalze before returning to the hotel. Spend the evening at leisure after dinner.
Day 12
Meet your guide at reception after breakfast. Today you’ll embark on a full day wine tasting tour. The Cape Winelands are surrounded by majestic mountain ranges and fertile green valleys. The region has a Mediterranean climate and the winter rainfall of the south-western Cape helps producing some of the best wines in the world. Towns and villages in the Cape Winelands have many historic homesteads, museums and monuments to discover. Visit famous wine estates such as Boschendal and La Motte before returning to the hotel.
Day 13
Tee off at Pearl Valley Golf Course after breakfast. Although no individual can lay claim to the overall design of Pearl Valley, the masterplan was shaped by the vision of Jack Nicklaus. This golf legend sees the Pearl Valley course as the sum of his knowledge and his experience. Return to the hotel after golf and spend the remainder of the day discovering Stellenbosch’s many shops, museums, galleries, cafes and restaurants at your own pace.
Day 14
Enjoy breakfast and a relaxing morning at the hotel before checking out. Meet your guide at reception for your transfer back to Cape Town International, where you can do some last minute duty free shopping before boarding your flight back home.
